Today I will be reviewing the two sample ampoule essences included in the Memebox #9 and Mini box #1.
Sidetrack a little: click here if you want more bonuses/links to memeboxes.

Boh, or Botanic Hill is not a popular brand globally, so information is quite scarce …especially in English.

According to the info card memebox included;

Botanic Hill Moist Youth Ampoule Essence and Radiant Youth Ampoule Essence are anti-aging essences that combine ampoule, essence and oil into one. It is not super helpful either.. :X

Apparently they are both made from some flower essences. They are said to repair barrier, moisturize plus keeping your skin radiant and youthful.

There wasn’t any instruction of which should come first but according since the Moist one is more watery, I think that should sit beneath the Radiant essence like a toner would.

This is an interesting one. You should shake it before use and it will form globules of oil mixed with liquid in the tube. (not sure if you can see it from the picture) It applies like water, but leaves an oily film like any facial oil would, only lighter! I can’t describe it, but I think this is quite good for anyone who have oily/dry combination skin. It does not have a strong scent to it, but does smell slightly floral.

Here is the full ingredient list for the Moist Youth Ampoule Essence :

Whoa. I wasn’t expecting so many ingredients since it felt feathery light. It does contain alcohol but lots of natural extracts. Not sure if this is a good thing…

This is like a slightly whitish gel consistency, reminiscent of the Mizon snail cream but more watery. I like that it is super light as well and you can layer skin care on it. You know the Korean skincare drill… Both products when combined are good for under makeup if you have dry skin, or as a night care routine.

Verdict: I like the subtle floral scent of both the product. I was surprised that the ingredients list is that long, but what skincare aren’t full of chemicals, right? It does moisturize quite well. I think the trend word here is dewy. Then again, I did not see a miraculous effect from both…probably the sample sizes are not adequate.

I am happy that memebox included these because I might not buy them myself otherwise.

On the info page it says that the production distributor of Boh is CJ Olive Young Co., Ltd.

Therefore I would like to take this opportunity to shortly introduce the company Olive Young. (I am not sponsored to do this or affiliated to them)

Established in 1999, Olive Young is a billion dollar company that offers dermo-cosmetics and makeup in its many branches all over Korea, and lately expanded into the China market.

Olive Young to me sounds like the Sephora of Korea. They carry plenty of brands, with a huge majority made in Korea. They even have most of the brands we have in Sephora, Douglas or even the Asian Watsons/ Mannings.

Each brand have their own counter/ shelf like a typical departmental store would, but fancier. Some of the Olive Young stores are a few storeys high…. I am not even kidding!! It’s like they have a whole floor for Skincare, another for Makeup and so forth.

I like that that they sound like the mecca of skincare and cosmetics, though I haven’t been into any of their shops or Korea in fact. I really want to go to SK one day and haul all the goodies and get shitload of free samples from the SAs!! I will make it happen one day~

If you would like to browse their shop, Olive Young webpage is here.
