Beauteque Head to Toe Bag Lip Essentials (May 2015)

image

This month’s head to toe bag is all about lip essentials! Recently the media is all crazy about lip products and ‘the pout’. I myself was hunting down some eccentric lip stains for spring/summer, so when the theme was unveiled, I was actually positive about this! ❤

Before we start unbagging, lets talk about Beauteque‘s subscription bag. 🙂

The Beauteque’s Head to Toe is not exactly a monthly sub, but they do release a new theme each month and you can purchase a singly bag each time if you fancy the theme! You can also find some previous bags in their site. 🙂
The Head to Toe Lip Essentials is still available for purchase at $26.00 on their site.

It’s 18cm x 11cm, looks pretty nice but reeks a little. I guess the smell goes after awhile.

I am most excited about the Etude House Dear My Blooming Lips-talk in PK005. I do like this lipstick range and tried their other colors before. PK005 is a light pink, which is almost salmon-ish. It works for people with very fair skin but not so much with darker skins (makes me look like a tanned barbie in summer … :O ).

image

The design is super cute! ❤ I like the pink and embossed lipstick and all, but the ribbon ring on the tube is a flaw. It breaks so easily! My previous blooming lipsticks are mostly void of the ring.

image

I wouldn’t call this a long-wearing lipstick, but it applies nicely and has a nice color. It is perfect for gradient lips if paired with a darker pink. 🙂 I like that Etude lipsticks come with so many choices and make an adorable gift for any girl friend.

The lip brush that came in this bag looks interesting. it is actually detachable and retractable.

image

Just pop one end into the other and the brush shows iteself. It is quite….err bushy (?) and doesn’t seem to be right for precise application. Thank god this bag contains a lip liner to fix that.

image

Idk, it isn’t the best lip applicator. I was looking forward because my Vivito painting pod needed one.

I’m sure you will feel blessed when you use this, because its the Holy Berry Tint by Holika Holika! (sorry for bad jokes)

image

It tastes like artificial berries lol. I don’t think it is any better than Tony Moly’s or Benetint, but if you just need a quick stain to head out the door, then this is alright. I will put this on in 3 seconds to answer my door or run to the store.

image

Mine was in 02 Raspberry. Well, you could use this to mix with a basic BB cream in an empty cushion pact to make a blush! I have been experimenting with various lip colors and I think it is a fun idea for people with too many BB creams and lip tints to spare. (I mixed my unused Clarins BB + Innisfree lip tint mousse + Peripera tint to create this salmon pink blush which I love using daily! 😀 )

The Etude House Soft touch Auto lipliner is a product to have in terms of application and price. It does remind me very much of the Tony Moly lip liner received from a previous bag. This one is slightly darker and tugs less.

image

I don’t wear a lot of red lips, but this bag is starting to re-inspire me. 🙂

image

This photo is under the sunlight so the real color is slightly darker than that.

We are no stranger to lip patches~ The Tony Moly Lip patch (I know the info card says Etude house..) is pretty much the same as compared to other hydrogel lip masks I have tried.

image

Cooling and silencing 😛 This product is just what you need if you suffer from dry, chapped lips.

image

It is another product to introduce to my countrymates. We don’t often see a lip mask around here you know..

Aritaum is a brand I have been waiting to see more of in subscriptions. We got their Baby Lips Balm in this bag. Mine was Power Hyaluronic Acid.

image

I have not tried this, but I guess any lip balm is pretty handy to have in your handbag. This version is said to hydrate without stickiness. Of course, there is nothing worse than having gel-like lips which adheres your hair as the wind blows. :/

I’m glad that Beauteque chose to add in a lip scrub as well! The Nature Republic by Flower Lip Scrub is a granulated scrub that helps soften and smoothen lips.

image

I was always confused as to when to use a lip scrub! I kept forgetting that I should scrub when I wash my face in the mornings, and not after I have applied all my skincare steps because then i will just wash everything around my lip area off. I did try to remove scrubs with a cotton and then apply lipstick on but its just a mess and granules can taste blergh. So scrub when you cleanse! 😀

___

Okay, I like how well-rounded this bag is. You get everything from a scrub, a lip liner to an applicator. They aren’t the best choices for me, but I do like how varied this is. I do wish they’d include a hot item from VDL/ 3CE/ Clio instead of that lip brush and lip tint. It’s a personal preference but eccentric color choices like violet or burgundy would have elevated the bag to a must-have.

You can get the regular BB bags and other product offers here: Beauteque.com (also sign up immediately for a $3 rebate) or find their other monthly subscriptions at Beautequemonthly.com. For mask lovers, rejoice because Beaeteque is now offering Mask Maven too (10 mask/ month sub)!

Beauteque Sweethearts February BB Bag review

image

Yes, it is nearing the end of March, but this bag is too awesome to not be reviewed! 😛 The Beauteque Sweethearts February BB Bag features a sweet, sweet beauty collection in conjunction with valentines~ ❤

image

This bag contains 8 products altogether, including a lifestyle product!

image

Before reviewing each products, lets talk about how convenient this makeup pouch is. It is padded on the outside making it super useful to store eye shadows, bronzers and press powders, and it has two pockets on the inside so we don’t have to fumble about to look for that brow pencil or nose strip etc. 😀

image

Definitely making into my top 3 pouches received from Beauteque so far~ ❤

The Echoice Peptide Cream ($14.99) is simply an all-in-one cream that promises to moisturize and firm up the skin after cleansing and toning. It comes in a no-frill drugstore-like design.

image

image

The tube was unsealed and pumps out immediately after I unscrewed the cap. It’s a white cream that feels a tad heavier than some moisturizers that I normally use… almost hand-cream-like. There is also a slight fragrance to it, which does not bother me. What does is the feeling that this could be too much if you use an essence/ ampoule/ lotion beneath. I would say just use this alone after toning.

image

I have not seen much changes after using, but I guess we should give it some time, yes?

The Tony Moly Petit Art Perfume Mist in fresh green ($12) is probably my favourite item in this bag! It is an absolute fabulous find because of how lovely it smells. I can’t describe it well enough…perhaps green tea + green apple + grass or something fresh. Anywho, I’m spritzing this like crazy and looking to buy a backup already~ ❤ ❤

image

I’m pretty sure that girl illustrated looks familiar….

image

It is after all lots of ester (chemistry yo) contributing to the scent, but be aware that lavender extract is also listed as one of ingredients to those ladies who are allergic to it.

I’m curious as to how the other variations would smell but I really love this one. Garh… ❤

It’s Skin Mango White Lip and Eye Remover ($5) comes in a pack of 15 and reminds me very much of the Skinfood seaweed one I have purchased awhile ago. It is an oil-type remover unlike cleansing tissues. So just to be sure you are picking up the right one, if you see “lip and eye” chances are they are oil-type removers.

image

And I’m pretty certain they meant mangosteen from that illustration rather than mangos. Entirely different fruit (not that I can pick up the smells any way…).

image

They work fine, and smell alright but I don’t fancy the oily sensation personally. It makes my eyes water a little (like the oil+powder gokmul toner everyone likes). I think my eyes has aversion to oil and alcohol or something XP

I am, however, deeply in love with the Herb Day cleansing ones also received from a Beauteque bag before ❤ Repurchased!

The Skinfood Black bean Eye Brow Pencil ($11) has also made it to my staple list. I find it very useful to have two sides: a drawing charcoal and a brow brush.

image

image

I think this might take awhile to run out like most Korean brow pencils. I do have pretty unruly brows and am using out my browcaras. 😛

I would have personally purchased this A’Pieu Non Co Tea Tree Emulsion ($12.99) to satiate my curiosity but thankfully received one instead in a BB bag! It was so cheap on another shopping site and I wondered if it will actually work.

image

I had not have a chance to try this yet,… (using up my Tosowoong Tea tree lotion first) but I will, soon!

image

It is 150ml of presumably good stuff and right for my age group too. Fingers crossed~

Beauteque also added in 2 masks for this bag;

Humanpia Costech Arbutin Essence Mask

Apparently good for restoring elasticity, brightening and firming the skin.

image

It has Japanese on the back of it but instructions are otherwise the same. 15-20 minutes is all it needs. Am pretty sure this is from Korea but probably a repackaged version to sell to Japanese women.

image

NextBeau Moisture/ Collagen Aqua Mask

The description is pretty funny: Collagen makes the skin moisturized for a long time as abundant moisture sensation by containing collagen; but all is well…we Europeans mostly don’t speak English as out first language either. 😛

image

image

No surprises here…the same instructions as usual.

The Etude House Collagen Eye Patch ($3.99) is not a stranger in my vanity. My mum hoards these eye patches and I steal them from her refrigerator stash because they soothe my computer eyes~

image

image

Another surprisingly lovely find is this Hair Spa towel ($9.99) which I have been using since the day I received this bag! I had one similar one from Daiso Japan and that one is in rags due to overuse lol. This makes me so happy because I was about to go on a terry cloth hair towel hunt~ Thumbs up for Beauteque’s curation! ❤

image

This bag has to be one of the best so far with 3 items already making into my routine staples list, not to mention that pouch housing all the goodies! I think I like this more than the January or March ones ❤ ❤ I am sniffing that fresh green perfume mist like a glu sniffer while typing this all the while..argh love!

Beauteque March BB Bag unbagging~ ♥ beautequemonthly

image

Whoop! The March edition of Beauteque’s BB Bag from Beautequemonthly.com. is finally here! This time, the theme is “Our Lips are Sealed”— it’s all about the best kept beauty secrets (and the lip print bag of course). Beauteque opens it’s monthly subscription early this year worldwide and we have already seen 3 glorious bags from them so far. Will this one be the best yet? Lets find out!

Info card;

image

I like that they improved on many aspects by listening to their subscribers/ bloggers. The product brand and name is so important for further online digging. 😉

image

This bag contains a total of 7 products altogether excluding the lip print bag! Although not all of the items fit into the bag this time, they were well packed in a bubble envelope. A the first glance, I picked up several items from my kbeauty wishlist! ❤

The Face Shop Herb Day Mugwort Massage Cream ($12) is an item I had in one of my (many) carts lol. I was super stocked to get this in a BB bag! The product is well heavy and could easily cost a fortune to ship to Europe but I was eager to try this. 🙂

image

It looks exactly like a creamy moisturizer! I was half expecting it to be as balmy as Banila Co.’s Clean it zero but nope, it is a cream as named. The cream smells like a mixture of herbs and flowers which I can’t put my finger on, but I’m alright with that.

imageimage

(above: eyeliner cleansing test)

The cream spreads so easily like melted butter and upon massaging, dirt and makeup comes off with a swipe of a cotton pad. I know, the instructions did recommend using a cleansing foam after but hey, it works so well even without! 😀

image

My skin feels soft as if it has been moisturized with a lotion already. I did use it a couple more times with cleansers and realized that my skin feels less tugged/ dry after. I’m absolutely pleased with this massage cream and think it is indeed a fabulous find~ 😉

Etude House Look at My Eyes Cafe (Sweet Potato latte- $9.50) is a color I have not owned. I remember adding one of these babies into my mum’s gift parcel from Etude House but oh hey, I got one for myself now too~

image

And yes, sweet potato latte is a real thing in Korea;

source: Caffebene

I digress.
This eyeshadow is a pretty grey rose x dark purple combination but when swatched it is surprisingly more wearable than it looks. Yay, at least I don’t look like I have a blue-black eye even with my amateurish shadow skills.

image

Swatch:

image

It is not pigmented enough, but works nicely when used with lighter shimmer colors for shading. It does have some shimmer bits in it (not sure if you can see from the photo). I recommend this with a peachy or nude pink shade. ❤ Couple that with Etude House’s tear drop liner and omagah you will look like a doll.

I was spazzing over Beauteque Mineral’s Facial brush few bags ago and whoop! A Pore Brush! The Beauteque pore control blackhead brush ($15) is a wonderful surprise in this bag. I mean, skin care and makeup is cool, but a beauty tool can be a girl’s best friend sometimes.

image

The pore brush is portable and light but of decent quality. It also comes with a knotted rope so that we can hang it to dry after use.

image

And the bristles are so sooooffftt! ❤ Gosh, I don’t care for pore brush before but I am ready to be a convert. Bring it on.

The other item which made up the weight of the bag was The Face Shop’s Rice Toner ($12). I would be honest and say I have not tried this toner yet because of the gazillion bottles of toner lying around in my house at the moment. i will come back to this soon and report back, but at the meantime I shall offer my first opinions after a background check on it.

image

That word  米 (read: mi / mĭ) means rice and that is what this stuff is made of. I like how minimalistic the design is!

imageimage

Ingredients, instructions and expiration date.

The ingredients seem to focus on whitening and moisturizing- two things Asian women staying in 4-season countries are concerned about. I guess this would not be everyone’s cup of tea (or bottle or toner) but I might actually like this!

Just in case you are worried about the freshness because of how cheaply you can get the Beauteque products fret not, this whole bag seems to be proper new.

The Tony Moly Mini Bling Pocket Hair Pack ($3) is a mask for the hair– yes ladies, it is a thing now. I have used several hair caps myself and find them tedious but often yield really good results. Gosh where do all the Korean ladies find time to do this lol.

image

The instructions are pretty simple (illustrated). This mask seems to be for the pony tail bit only though, which means sorry short hair ladies… maybe a full cap one/ hair treatment masque is what you should look for! :O

image

Okay, Beauteque seems to forsee this so they kinda zip-locked the Mizon modelling cup pack (firming, $8) to avoid messing up the whole bag which is smart of them. 😛

image

Modeling packs are getting popular lately, because they come in all sorts of ‘function’ and ‘flavors’ 😛 You name it, I bet you can find it. Companies were also scrambling to sell the bowls and pack brushes for these packs. Lucrative business they are!

Anyways, the tricky bit is to add the right amount of water to make a creamy but not drippy mask. 15-20 minutes on the face and you are good to go.

image

I do recommend DIY-ing your modeling packs (at your own risk though) with patting waters, essences, facial oils and even milk/ yoghurt! These are some combinations I have tried and enjoyed. Just imagine this as making a nutritious cup of mixed fruit juice. 🙂

The A’Pieu Take My Hands Nail Sheet Pack ($5) contains 10 cute little finger gloves that nourishes nails and calm cuticles (yes I have angry cuticles). Anyone who keeps messing their nails up with various toppers, harsh removers and etcetera might appreciate a good 15-minute therapy.

image

Instructions;

image

I think this bag is pretty solid in terms of the product diversity. I absolutely adore that massaging cream and pore brush. That said, I do like to see even more uncommon things in the future BB bags- perhaps a wicked dark purple creamy lip stick, a cute mixing bowl set (as shown above) or a lovely lychee sugar hair spray! Who knows what the next bags will bring.

image

This bag costs $24 (singly) or cheaper with longer subs (click Beautequemonthly.com. to find out) and shipping costs vary between countries. Each of their bags contains at least 7 beauty/ lifestyle products in total! As of today, it is still available for purchase. 🙂

You can get the regular BB bags and other product offers on Beauteque.com (sign up immediately for a $3 rebate) or find their other monthly subscriptions at Beautequemonthly.com. For mask lovers, rejoice because Beaeteque is now offering Mask Maven too (10 mask/ month sub)!
