✾ Memebox Tea Tree Cosmetics Box ✾

image

I could not resist a Tea Tree box because this is a must-have box for anyone especially those in their teenage years- early twenties. There is an Asian saying that if you have acne problems, you are still young! 😛

The Tea Tree cosmetics box was $27 (+$6.99 for shipping). It was advertised as follows;

If you’re prone to blemishes, oily skin, and skin’s biggest nemesis, blackheads, this Tea Tree Cosmetics Box will surely save you from your troubled skin woes! Tea tree ingredients, known for their topical antiseptic and anti-fungal properties, are the “jack of all trades” when it comes to targeting and treating blemish-prone skin. It also reduces the oil and sebum secretion on skin for the look of healthy and radiant skin, minus the embarrassing shine! Get this box to regenerate damaged skin tissue and improve the skin’s healing process for the look of clearer, and brighter skin.

Let’s see if it lives up to the expectations!

We get 6 full-sized products in this box. If you have been reading my unboxings, I usually review in order according my fav/ the most interesting products to the one I don’t really care to have.

Surprise, surprise. A Shara Shara product as my fav?! Rub your eyes twice and yes, this Shara Shara Bee Tox Spot Cream (15ml, $18) is probably one of the best in this box. It smells of herbs and grass! Yes, I love my herbs and florals alot.

image

Luckily I am not allergic to bee stuff but in case you are, look at the ingredients here.

image

I don’t have serious acne problems but I keep reaching for this tube because I’m addicted to the smell lol. Maybe a pimple or two will prove its effectiveness, but lets hope there is no need for that. I love my skin atm! ❤

The next rave-worthy product is probably the Tosowoong Tea Tree AC-control Soothing Lotion (100ml, $19). Tosowoong has been consistently delivering some pretty decent products at affordable prices. I have been using the similar lotion from another Memebox and my skin thanks me for it.

image

I was using mostly brightening and hydrating stuff, until I realized at my age these pore and AC products are more suitable. The weather is a little cray in Europe the recent years, so I have avoided products that dries out skin. Memebox has opened a whole new world of AC control stuff to me! 🙂

image

The Tea Tree VS Bee Natural Pure Lotion (Memebox Anniversary Box)
Which is your fav?
I’m definitely liking the Bee one atm. I guess it might be time I re-explore bee stuff (especially Benton).

Besides Tosowoong, another skin care brand fav is Pro You. Their creams and peel have been a hit with memefans and I would love to think the Pro You Tea Tree Oil (10ml, $24) will be well-received as well.

image

It’s such a small bottle for that price tag but yay, got it for less in a Memebox. 😛 I will find a chance to use this during cram week for sure. Not looking forward though..

I’m absolutely amazed at how many wipes and toners Memebox sent out this month. Purederm is a cheaper brand, so I didn’t place this on top of my to-try list, yet. I do think this Purederm Tea Tree Pore Freshener (170ml, $24) looks as fresh as it sounds.

But tbh wtf is a “freshner”?

image

I am assuming this is a toner-slash-makeup remover based on the description. It claims to remove makeup residues, dirt and impurities that clogged up pores.

image

The ingredients seem pretty good for trouble-prone skin so I’m saving this up until my other toner reaches half. 🙂

Whoop! More cleansing tissues. Towelettes to be more precise. The Purederm Tea-tree Make-up Remover Cleansing Towlettes ($7) came in 30 pieces/pack.

image

I think this is super convenient to use, although at home I would cleanse after using it and outside this pack of 30 would be a tad heavy. Wishing they had came in 10s instead but oh well, I’ll use this in stead of my eye and lip remover liquid.

Never heard of this brand before: D’Dell Moisture Facial mask 03 Tea Tree (23g, $7). Like any mask, this is to be left for 15-20mins before removing and patting in the essence.

The whole box was disappointing to some because we all kinda expected some LJH products but hey, I’ll make do with this one. I think the spot cream and lotion makes up for the box, although I wished this had been a $23 box. Hmmm….

If you are reading this today, Merry Christmas to you and to the rest Happy 2015 and may your year be a smooth one! 😉

Volume Up with Memebox~

There may have been mixed opinions on the Memebox Special #61 Volume Up! and that is exactly how I feel about this one. On one side I do think it delivers on the theme (though not with a wow impact), on the other I found myself perplexed with what I should do with half of the things in it.

These are some confusing times with Memebox’s curations honestly. I was deluding myself with various possibilities: volumizing shampoos, caffeine-loaded or spicy body things and a massage cream to sort of lift the face. Has it stayed simply a delusion after all?

Yes, it probably has. 😦

The 803 Cream Sam H Cream (50g, $34) sounds exciting with the promise of nourishing, rejuvenating and adding extra volume to hips. It contains shea butter, adenosine, adipophilin, niacinamide and borphilin.

image

I decided, why not? Lets rub this stuff onto my posterior and see if it gets perkier. Nope. Of course I am not saying this after one use. I applied this religiously every time after showering (with rolling and massaging) for 2 weeks or more now. Still nope.

image

This cream, however, does moisturize alot and keep the area proper tender. It is like a body butter texture without much greasiness. The cream does not smell of anything in particular. I wished they would improve the range with some steam/warming effect at least (because gimmicks work as better placebos). :/

We all are pretty accustomed to the brand Mizon. They are some affordable and yet useful products. The Mizon Water Volume Aqua Gel Cream (50ml, $9) is enriched with Alaskan water, deep ocean water (lol?), coral water, witch hazel leaf, watermelon (lol?), basil leaf, lotus (lolol?), niacinamide and birch tree sap. Interesting list of ingredients indeed! Mostly soothing and cooling however.

image

I like that this is free of paraben. The tube is also small enough to add into your travel pouch. Despite it being simply an affordable moisturizing gel cream, this made a lot of ladies happy. 😛

Pureplus+ Lip Treatment Milk Bebe (10g, $10) sounds like any other lip balm. I have not tested this to comment on it, but it might actually be great. *shrug*

image

Backside;
(cool, its free of 3 harmful things)

image

I don’t know if Pureplus and Purederm or pure whatever are related but the lack of originality is sad, really. I also don’t know who came up with the packaging first, but they all look like duplicates now, which is also sad. This could otherwise have been a nice product for me but if you know me well enough, you would also know I take packaging and design (originality) very seriously.

Shara Shara Glitter Powder WH01 Snow White (2.2g, $7) boosts its glitter (groans) pearls and sparkle (more groans) on skin to brighten and contour the face. I don’t know whats with them and shimmery things. Can.We.Please.Get.Natural.Looking.Things.Please.

image

Nevermind, this goes onto the swap/trade pile. I think makeup lovers might appreciate this more than I do.

This Mise en Scene 2x Curling Essence (30ml, $2.40) is the third time I ever owned. Probably this is meant for newer meme-members.

image

Memebox’s hair products surprisingly rarely disappoint- Palan, Cherry blossom conditioner and Ryoe to name a few. I wish we got those instead… Or a nice volumizing dry /wet shampoo/ conditioner would have been lovely!

Tony Moly Kiss Lover Lip Plumper 02 Hoot Mint (4.6ml, $8) plumps and smoothens lips for a kissable cherry-like pout.

image

It does look cool though. Not something I would pick up in TM stores but nevertheless befitting the theme. Sort of.

I like Enesti as a brand, especially that lovely apple and honey hand cream they showcased in Memebox Honey box  and was hoping the brand would appear more in Memeboxes. They must have a lot of confidence to put their mascara into a box because mascaras, to me, are usually to stay once you find the one.

Enesti Ultra Volume Mascara (7ml, $9) intensifies lashes and claims ‘no clumps or stickiness.’

image image

Have not heard a rave on this yet. I cannot stand clumpy, overly volumizing mascaras so I will hold on to this and decide whether to use this later. I have several in my stash at the moment, favorite being the Imju Dejavu Fiberwig Long mascara. ❤

image

Ultimately, this is a box full with things that has certain volumizing effects to them. I was the curious kitty when I saw this released alongside the oil and scrub #2 box and between oil and volume, I chose this to satiate my curiosity. (ordered it as a bundle with Scrub #2 Memebox)

I do think this box is quite decent, just that I don’t personally use some of the items. Oh well, can’t always get all the good ones… 😛

image

Description from Memebox:

This is a Memebox must-have for all you My Cute Wish-list fans out there! You’ll become weak to the knees at the sight of our box full of precious packaging, fun and cheeky names, and all things that are as cute as a button.

In all seriousness though, snag the latest addition to the My Cute Wish-list series because it surely will not disappoint.

My parcel took 5 working days to arrive via DHL. I have bundled it with the OMG3 Memebox (reviewed here). Honestly though, the description above claims to make us ‘weak to the knees’ but I was quite disappointed with this box.. Let’s talk about it.

Infocard

There are 6 items altogether.

1. ddung Family Foam Cleansing Cream (120ml, $12) and I got the 02 Fruits version.

image

ddung (뚱) is apparently the famous doll range in Korea. Big eyes, plump face and other baby features seem to be a hit among some ladies over there and they probably made a range of beauty stuff inspired by that. I think the drawing is cute, but other than that we were probably uninspired by foam cleansers in generic tubes.

The fruits variety contains: plum, grapefruit, peach, apple, tangerine and blueberry. I love the sound of that for a fruit salad, but I think winter are drier months and I would put this up for swaps since foam cleansers do tend to dry my skin out alot.

2. Youngwoosa Oh! It’s Lovely and Soft Cream (45g, $47)

image

I can’t believe this is $47…so I did some digging and found it here for 12,900 retail (approx. $12.90). Not sure how this qualify as cute, but probably the scalloped edge on the box looks cute..?

image

The cream feels like any standard powdery cream. It smells almost…dermatological. 😛 I smell those every day in the clinic to treat itch and dryness so probably they used the same formulation. This is not bad to have at all. I would use it on my young nephew if he has got rashes on his body due to winter dryness. Lol.

3. Shara Shara Kissing Sugar Lip Scrub (10g, $7)

image

I was excited to try this, but sad that it wasn’t anything miraculous after all. It does feel very balmy like it claims, and tastes sweet too (not that I recommend eating it lol). The scrub contains honey extracts, avocado oil, argan spinosa kernel oil and other vegetable oils.

I’ve used it on my dry lips and it was frustrating to scrub after you have washed your face and used a moisturizer or after makeup, so I advise using it before the whole cleansing process. I would not buy this myself, though it fed my curiosity of Korean lip scrubs.

4. Tony Moly Red Cheek Girl’s patch ($2)

image

Though this is the cheapest item in the box, I think it ranks 1st as the cutest. You gotta agree this one is a great gift for anyone! I would not bear to use this lol~ The hydro gel patches are for soothing dry and rosy cheeks.

image

Ingredients include rose flower, aloe vera, apricot, cherry blossom, cucumber and green tea extracts. It says to use for 20-30 minutes like any regular masks.

5. Hope Girl Tinted Lip Balm (8g, $12) in 03 Hot Cherry

image

I got the right shade, but I think I have enough lip products to last me a lifetime at the moment, and Hope Girl isn’t a brand I would look forward to try. Other than that, I think somebody might appreciate a nice pink leopard print tub. This is also pretty similar to the Shara Shara lip tint balm (All About Lips Memebox) though that one smells alot nicer.

6. Shara Shara Fairy’s Make-up Synergy Sun Cream SPF45 PA++ (30ml, $21)

image

This was the standout item from the box and people claimed that it looks creepy. Okay, it is not the prettiest but it looks…just plain jane to me. I can’t believe the elaborate packaging for just 30ml of product, and a boring one on top of that.

image

You can twist it’s upper body to reveal the noozle for the sunscreen. Idk. I don’t think it is cute at all, but I will always need a sunscreen for winter anyways when I go skiing. It claims to be for the face but I will try this on the body instead. Thanks.

image

Nope. Memebox did not even try for this one. Although it might be an awesome box should it be compared to other subs, it does not live up to the theme and value-wise they should be about $45 in total if I am right. I would not buy another Cute Wishlist as they are declining in cute standards. I’ll put my money to solid food themes and skincare boxes. 🙂

Do check out the other available memeboxes here and use my promo codes. These are good till the end of October I suppose, and gives a discount of $5 off all orders (good for one use each).
