Beauteque Head to Toe Pink Beauty Bag~ February 2015 edition

Its not everyday you can get a pink-themed beauty bag in your mail~ This February, Beauteque brought us some amazing products via their Head to Toe Pink bag! Not only do the products play to the theme, they also came in a cute cutout pink makeup bag and info card! ❤

image

Just look at that gorgeous bag. It has got to be my favourite bag received from Beauteque’s subs so far~ And yes, only Beauteque offers beauty bags that actually come with real awesome bags!

image

This bag costs $26 and shipping costs vary (USA- $4.95, CAN- $6.95, EU- $8.95). Each of their bags contains 7 beauty products in total! As of today, it is still available for purchase. 🙂

~.~.~.~.~

Description reads: You don’t need to visit the city of love to fall in love when the bag of love is waiting for you at your doorstep! Fall in love with the bag of love this month filled with pink treats from us to you. Glam yourself with the Head to Toe Pink Bag which includes a variety of beauty products perfect for the afternoon out with friends, or a night with that special someone!

I am most excited for this product;
Shiseido Hada Senka Lotion ($15.95)

image

There are a few Japanese brands that I love and Shiseido is one of them. My HG sunscreen and basic cleanser comes from Shiseido so I really looked forward to trying this ever since I saw the unboxing (or unbagging) on IG.

image image

This lotion feels like a creamy milk and smells like milk too if anything. It reminded me very much of Hada Labo’s milk lotion which I adore as well. The formula isn’t sticky at all and upon spreading, it absorbs into the skin, leaving it moisturized and so sooofft… ❤

I love it! I am substituting this lotion into my day routine after toner and essence. Since winter refuses to leave..(smh I know) my skin needs all the moisture it can get!

Tony Moly Easy Touch Auto Lip Liner ($7.25) in 02 Rose Pink

This is another product that I really need! It feels like jackpot when you needed something and your beauty sub came with it (/^▽^)/~

image

One end is a lip brush and the other is the liner pencil. The brush is so handy for blending and helping your lipstick application look as natural as possible. I wore a dark lip out tonight and gosh this goes so well with my MAC Viva Glam.

image

Okay the above swatch was taken under bright lighting but the real color is darker and has slight shimmery bits. It applies smoothly and is almost creamy. It is also easy to blend out. The pencil contains about 2cm of product and is pretty sturdy, unlike other cheap lip liners that may fall out…Verdict? It’s a keeper! I’d look out for the color No.03 Red wine (Tony Moly made 5 color variations of this liner). 🙂

Next up is a product that I have tried before. It is the cute Etude House Moonlight in Spoon Blending Sleeping Cream ($3.95).

We received the Rosehip one, which is a flavor(?) that I have not tried. 😛 I personally think the green tea and blueberries ones were fab and smell so good. However, if you attempt to use it all up at once, you might find that it is a little too rich to absorb. People complain about getting hair and lint sleeping in with the pack but I usually use my patting water first and then massage in half of this spoon for a better outcome.

image

Description from Etude House: This is a Blending Sleeping Cream containing Rosehip extract, Lavender, Chamomile and Mint. Blend together Sleeping Cream’s golden herb water-gel and richly nourishing cream contents to moisturize skin overnight for a lucid, bright moonlight-like complexion.

And you have to agree this makes such a cute gift too. 🙂 I’m looking forward to skewer bath bombs and other adorable beauty products from Etude!

It’s Skin Todak Todak Capsule Wash Off Mask ($5 both) looks so adorable sob. “Todak Todak” is actually a Korean sound for patting lol. It means that you would pat in some goodness with this product perhaps and keep your skin supple.

image

The pomegranate pack smells so delicious! It read it also contains shea butter. I loved their apple (green) one and am pretty pleased to have gotten these to try out. I’m giving my housemate the other one to test out~ 10ml of product is alot and you can use one capsule for two applications perhaps. 😉

My dream is to buy a transparent fish bowl and fill it up with different mask capsules from It’s Skin, Innisfree and Banila co. ❤ One day…

I did not expect the next product in this bag, but I was ready to try it.
The Femme Couture Highlighting Luminizer ($11.50)  has split and caused a watery mess upon opening.

image image

You can perhaps see from the photo below…yeah unicorns bled to bring us shiny, pinkish glow. 😦

image

I was not happy with this. I wished at least the smell would justify the mess it made on my sofa (which covers I washed after the whole shoot) but it didn’t. I might, or might not use this again, depending on how desperate I am, but I guess I would rather use the strong smelling Soap & Glory one I got last Christmas.

The Tony Moly Circle Lens Mascara ($6.50) would have a difficult time to impress me because I already have my staple HG mascara and I personally prefer more natural makeup looks.

image image

It didn’t do such a bad job to be honest. The wand is really slim, as compared to other volumizing mascaras out there. This means that it is perfect for a dramatic lower lash coat and you can apply this in a zig zag vertically rather than getting it all clumped up when applied horizontally.

image image

Yes, it is not as dark a black as the Dejavu Fiberwig one (more of an ashy grey), but the formula is comparable. I tried this on and it didn’t budge for 5 hours but I cannot be certain about oilier, hotter days because it was 0 degrees Celcius out today…. I would keep this for party times. 🙂

Lastly, the ever so lovable blending sponge ($15.95) in a ribbon sealable bag. *dies* (✿ ♥‿♥)

image

The sponge is so dense but bouncy it reminds me slightly of the TCFS Marshmallow puff sponge. This one does not reek of latex (thank goodness) and is go easy to grip. The sharper tip works to blend out of edges like the side of your nose, meanwhile the rounded end is for the cheeks and forehead.

image

~.~.~.~.~

Okay, lets be real. Some prices quoted were jacked up obviously, but I think they all do total up to at least $50 and lets not forget about how pretty the pink bag it came in looks. I enjoy the curations of this beauty bag alot and look forward to the next one: The Head to Toe Breakfast bag! Do check it out if you have not, the spoilers look amazing ❤

Memebox Special #69 My Pouch Essentials

image

I actually bought this because I liked the first Memebox’s Pouch (reviewed here). The Memebox Special #69 My Pouch Essentials was purchased as a bundle along with the Cleanse & Tone Memebox for a total of $46 ($23 each) plus express shipping cost of $6.99.

Honestly, I was already disappointed when I held the box. It felt super light and when I opened it up, there were only 6 tiny products…

Info-card;

image

LOL at the picture of that Hanskin BB cream. I wished it was that pot size instead of a puny thumb-sized one.

image

This box would have been a hit if Memebox wasn’t stingy with the Witch’s Pouch Radiant Lolli (2.5g sample size…$7?). I have gotten the 03 Funky Bloom. It is a light pink tint. Although the name says tint, it is actually super light and is more of a gloss.. I get why people like this tint.

The color is pretty and it smells (and taste) delicious– of sweet cherry juice or something. It applies beautifully and is fab for creating gradients. Only negative point is that the staying power is kinda bleh and goes off within an hour or so.

image

Despite that, this tint is actually my fav in the box and I couldn’t be happier to get the light pink shade. I have been getting too much reds and orange from Memeboxes perhaps.

My second fav is another repeat: the Hanskin Bio Origin Ampoule BB SPF30 PA++ 4.5ml ($6.9?). This is a thumb-sized sample. Again, I wish Memebox could just throw in a full-sized BB cream for us or at least add in several samples from the brand. This is pretty stingy since I love this BB cream!!

image

The formulation is like creamy velvet and suits my skin tone so well. Not the best for coverage, but it does not cake or dry up your skin at all! I would consider purchasing more Hanskin BB creams if they weren’t so expensive and hard to come by…

Next up is a pretty raved concealer: Tony Moly Face Mix Cover Pot Concealer (4g, $5) in 01 Light Beige. The shade I got is the lightest but suits me well.

image

I reckon this would be fab to conceal pigmentations and dark under-eye but not dry patches/pimples. The formula is pretty creamy and blends out nicely. I tried this several times myself and it seems to cover mild discolorations.

image

Swatch

Despite how light it looks on my finger, it actually matches my skin tone after blending. Moisturize well and use a mini concealer brush/ angled sponge to apply this. 🙂

The next one could have been on a higher rank of the list had it not been too powdery. The Kwailnara Perfume de Moist Hand Cream Glam Savanna (50g, $4) is a musky floral cream with various oils and nourishing ingredients.

image

I love all hand creams and am keeping this for future use although its musky..

Another Tony Moly product: TM Crystal Stick Shadow 1.35g ($5) in 02 Luxury Gold. I’m not sure if I would keep this. One on hand, I wanted to try a stick shadow from TM but on the other, gold just isn’t an easy color to wear unless you are going to a dinner party or something posh.

image

This comes in various other shades as well.

Last item from the box is the Rosemine Vitamin E Lip Balm Rose Fairy (12g, $7). It’s a fruity, floral scented lip balm with Vit E, perfect for dry and chapped lips.

image

I have a couple of other things from Rosemine. Although they aren’t duds, the products are nothing to shout about either. One glance and ohhhh the packagings are so cute. Another and you’d roll your eye at the realization that its a blatant imitation of the brand Cath Kidston… 😦

Nuff said about this box. I do love half of the products in this and would use most of it. My only qualm is the fact that it isn’t as substantial as other $23 Memeboxes we had so far. I’d name this the official Lovable Stingy Box.

image

Description from Memebox:

This is a Memebox must-have for all you My Cute Wish-list fans out there! You’ll become weak to the knees at the sight of our box full of precious packaging, fun and cheeky names, and all things that are as cute as a button.

In all seriousness though, snag the latest addition to the My Cute Wish-list series because it surely will not disappoint.

My parcel took 5 working days to arrive via DHL. I have bundled it with the OMG3 Memebox (reviewed here). Honestly though, the description above claims to make us ‘weak to the knees’ but I was quite disappointed with this box.. Let’s talk about it.

Infocard

image image

There are 6 items altogether.

1. ddung Family Foam Cleansing Cream (120ml, $12) and I got the 02 Fruits version.

image

ddung (뚱) is apparently the famous doll range in Korea. Big eyes, plump face and other baby features seem to be a hit among some ladies over there and they probably made a range of beauty stuff inspired by that. I think the drawing is cute, but other than that we were probably uninspired by foam cleansers in generic tubes.

The fruits variety contains: plum, grapefruit, peach, apple, tangerine and blueberry. I love the sound of that for a fruit salad, but I think winter are drier months and I would put this up for swaps since foam cleansers do tend to dry my skin out alot.

2. Youngwoosa Oh! It’s Lovely and Soft Cream (45g, $47)

image

I can’t believe this is $47…so I did some digging and found it here for 12,900 retail (approx. $12.90). Not sure how this qualify as cute, but probably the scalloped edge on the box looks cute..?

image

The cream feels like any standard powdery cream. It smells almost…dermatological. 😛 I smell those every day in the clinic to treat itch and dryness so probably they used the same formulation. This is not bad to have at all. I would use it on my young nephew if he has got rashes on his body due to winter dryness. Lol.

3. Shara Shara Kissing Sugar Lip Scrub (10g, $7)

image

I was excited to try this, but sad that it wasn’t anything miraculous after all. It does feel very balmy like it claims, and tastes sweet too (not that I recommend eating it lol). The scrub contains honey extracts, avocado oil, argan spinosa kernel oil and other vegetable oils.

I’ve used it on my dry lips and it was frustrating to scrub after you have washed your face and used a moisturizer or after makeup, so I advise using it before the whole cleansing process. I would not buy this myself, though it fed my curiosity of Korean lip scrubs.

4. Tony Moly Red Cheek Girl’s patch ($2)

image

Though this is the cheapest item in the box, I think it ranks 1st as the cutest. You gotta agree this one is a great gift for anyone! I would not bear to use this lol~ The hydro gel patches are for soothing dry and rosy cheeks.

image

Ingredients include rose flower, aloe vera, apricot, cherry blossom, cucumber and green tea extracts. It says to use for 20-30 minutes like any regular masks.

5. Hope Girl Tinted Lip Balm (8g, $12) in 03 Hot Cherry

image

I got the right shade, but I think I have enough lip products to last me a lifetime at the moment, and Hope Girl isn’t a brand I would look forward to try. Other than that, I think somebody might appreciate a nice pink leopard print tub. This is also pretty similar to the Shara Shara lip tint balm (All About Lips Memebox) though that one smells alot nicer.

6. Shara Shara Fairy’s Make-up Synergy Sun Cream SPF45 PA++ (30ml, $21)

image

This was the standout item from the box and people claimed that it looks creepy. Okay, it is not the prettiest but it looks…just plain jane to me. I can’t believe the elaborate packaging for just 30ml of product, and a boring one on top of that.

image

You can twist it’s upper body to reveal the noozle for the sunscreen. Idk. I don’t think it is cute at all, but I will always need a sunscreen for winter anyways when I go skiing. It claims to be for the face but I will try this on the body instead. Thanks.

image

Nope. Memebox did not even try for this one. Although it might be an awesome box should it be compared to other subs, it does not live up to the theme and value-wise they should be about $45 in total if I am right. I would not buy another Cute Wishlist as they are declining in cute standards. I’ll put my money to solid food themes and skincare boxes. 🙂

Do check out the other available memeboxes here and use my promo codes. These are good till the end of October I suppose, and gives a discount of $5 off all orders (good for one use each).
