Memebox Cleanse & Tone~ ✧

image

I bought this box because I was toner-deprived back then. It’s interesting how Memebox supplies you with lots of the same item within a few weeks– there was an overload of foam cleansers and creams last month, and now its cleansing tissues’ and lip balms’ turn! 😛

The Memebox Cleanse and Tone is almost practically fail-proof. I thought it is a box of things we ladies need in a long run, so why not? 🙂

Info-card;

image

The Neogen Code9 Glucose Skin (250ml, $26) is as exciting as it looks! It claims to be lightweight, hydrating and nourishing at the same time. There are fermented glucose complexes in this one (I don’t remember encountering fermented glucose before?) and works as a toner for after cleansing.

image

It is of a light pink color which isn’t the bottle I’m sure. The toner dispenses as a spray and smells subtle and fresh. ❤

image

It expires in 2017 I suppose (the date is manufactured date) so I have plenty of time before getting to this one!

The second most exciting bit it these lil babes: Banila Co Clean it Zero Original and Resveratrol (7g x 2). I have always wanted to try these and yay to travel sizes too!

image

It is a cult favorite and ranks top 3 in their (Banila Co)  bestseller page.

I am especially interested to try this resveratrol one because of the powerful antioxidant properties it promises. This smells absolutely amazing as well! ❤

I am definitely packing this Charmzone Gingko Natural Cleansing Tissue (10 sheets) on my year-end trip. It is enriched with- you’ve guessed it- gingko.

image

Okay, obviously nothing to shout about, but I love how practical this is and it is light too! I can’t carry 100x sheets in my weekender, no.

The Mizon Cotton Shower Sheet Essence (55ml, $7) however, is a tad heavy and confusing at first glance. Is this….a mask? Cleansing tissue? Or toner? Because the description tends to claim all three possibilities, I might have to use it first to judge it.

image

You can use it as a toning sheet or a point pad mask (for dry patches). I got the “Moist” version which I reckon is for dry skin. There is also the oily skin version (“Fresh”) in blue and green graphics.

image

Glad that this is resealable too. I think keeping this in the fridge for summer might be absolutely amazing for the sun-burnt skin. 🙂

I quite like Enesti as a brand. The Enesti Yuzu Foaming Cleanser (120ml, $14) sounds quite lovely. For anyone who doesn’t know, yuzu is believed to be a hybrid of sour mandarin, hence the citrusy illustration.

image

This will lather up well and cleanse deep into the pores while delivering rich moisture. I think I might have to shower with my other cleansing foams before getting to this tube, but first impressions? Sounds good to me.

I have gotten the a;t Fox Tea Tox Water Clear Tablet (4g, $2) before and haven’t gotten around to using it although I adore the brand packaging. I just don’t think my sink is clean enough for this and do not own a facial basin either…

image

I do like the idea of making your own cleansing water with the pH of 4.9 and all the added benefits. It might be better if they come up with a makeup remover water for us lazy ladies! 😛

Overall, this is quite a satisfactory box! I like and will use most of the box for sure. My favs are the Code9 toner and Banila Co Clean it Zero. ❤ For the price tag of $23 (+ $6.99 shipping), this box did not disappoint at all. I will keep an eye on useful everyday Memeboxes and solid food-themed ones for sure.

This Memebox is my cup of tea! ♥

I am THRILLED to receive this Tea Cosmetics Memebox to review. I have no idea how the lovely Memebox people would know that I wanted this, but thanks, memespies–they are real! It was shipped early in September, and I got the backup one only last week.

First of all, I am a huge tea drinker and I think that teas contain many beauty benefits such as antioxidants both consumable and applicable. This natural remedy also calms the skin and on top of that smells good too!

So what is in this box?

There are 4 full-sized products and a whole can of A-true deluxe samples! Whoop whoop~ ♥

♣♣♣♣♣♣♣♣♣♣

I would talk about the A-true first because I missed these in the Minibox #3 and wanted to try them out for so long! I even emailed the rep from A-true to ask where to buy them but they can only offer me samples if I pay for the exorbitant shipping. 😦 Thank you, Memebox!

(Left) Vanilla Black Tea Day Relief Body Wash, 20ml
This smells more vanilla than tea. It is said to relieve stress and yields moisture for smoother, softer skin. The wash lathers just okay and my skin does not feel dry after shower. Loving the vanilla smell a lot (kept sniffing it) and I do believe it is definitely a calming product. This reminds me abit of the Victoria’s Secret’s Vanilla Love but not as perfume-y thanks to the Black Tea notes. Love! Wish you could smell this through the screen. I have only tried this once because I want to save it up for traveling in winter. 😉

Ingredients include:
Camellia Sinensis Leaf Water(130,340mg), Lauryl Glucoside, Disodium Cocoamphodiacetate, Sodium Cocoylalaninate, Glycerin, Olive Oil PEG-7 Esters, Sodium Lauroyl Glutamate, Polyglyceryl-10 Laurate, 1,2-Hexanediol, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract(1,200mg), Vanilla Planifolia Fruit Extract(13mg), Methyl Gluceth-20, Sodium Hyaluronate, Myrciaria Dubia Fruit Extract, Euterpe Oleracea Fruit Extract, Ocimum Basilicum(Basil) Leaf Extract, Melissa Officinalis Leaf Extract, Helichrysum Arenarium Extract, Caprylyl Glycol, Ilex Paraguariensis Leaf Extract, Panthenol, Sodium Bisulfite, Allantoin, Fragrance, Citric Acid, Disodium EDTA

(Right) Sweet Song Black Tea One-Step Cleansing Water, 20ml
The star ingredients of this product is the verbena leaves and orange blossoms. It is highly rich in minerals and vitamins for soft and purified skin. I used about 5 drops of this on a cotton pad and it removes my makeup pretty well, though I needed like 3 cotton pads for the whole face. The cleansing water claims to effectively removes daily makeup, impurities, and even eye and lip makeup. Its hypoallergenic formula uses safe ingredients without leaving any burning sensatons or irritations. This smells is very familiar- like the Blithe Green Patting Water but without the pungent tea tree!

Ingredients include:
Camellia Sinensis Leaf Water(258,426mg), PEG-6 Caprylic/Capric Glycerides, Glycerin, 1,2-Hexanediol, Panthenol, Salix nigra (Willow) Bark Extract, Vaccinium Myrtillus Fruit Extract, Saccharum Officinarum (Sugar Cane) Extract, Verbena Officinalis Leaf Extract(17.2458mg), Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Fruit Extract, Citrus Limon (Lemon) Fruit Extract, Butylene Glycol, Acer Saccharum (Sugar Maple) Extract, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Flower Extract(2.613mg), Water, Disodium EDTA, Fragrance

(Left) White Snow Tea Brilliant Essence, 20ml
On the website it says this “White Tea was once only exclusively reserved for Emperors of China”. Does it make me feel like a royalty? Lol maybe not, but it does feel fab! I love that it moisturizes while evening the skin tone. This could be the milder, better-smelling Asian cousin of Estee Lauder’s Micro Essence as both claims to do practically the same. This also smells milder than the cleansing water (see previous).

Ingredients include:
Camellia Sinensis Leaf Water(32,880mg), 1,2-Hexanediol, Dipropylene Glycol, Niacinamide, Triethylhexanoin, Phenyl Trimethicone, Panthenol, Salix nigra (Willow) Bark Extract, Hydrogenated Lecithin, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract(13mg), Viscum Album (Mistletoe) Ferment Extract, Imperata Cylindrica Root Ferment Extract, Ficus Carica (Fig) Fruit Extract, Punica Granatum Fruit Extract, Morus Alba Fruit Extract, Ginkgo Biloba Nut Extract, Macadamia Integrifolia Seed Oil, Glycerin, Butylene Glycol, Dimethicone, Sodium Polyacrylate, Polyurethane-39, Mica, Titanium Dioxide, Propanediol, Fragrance, Water, Disodium EDTA

(Right) Black Tea All Day Long Sun Cream SPF50+PA+++ 10g
The sun cream contains a mix of black tea, orange peels and cinnamon. Don’t be put off by the cinnamon though: It certainly does not smell or feel like cinnamon on the skin! I was skeptical when I first tried this by the pasty look of it but it spreads and disappears like any other creamy moisturizers! Amazing. Other than my Shiseido liquid sunscreen, I have never used another that smells this nice and absorbs without leaving a white cast.

Ingredients include:
Camellia Sinensis Leaf Water(19,715mg), Cyclopentasiloxane, Octocrylene, Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate, Cyclohexasiloxane, Ethylhexyl Salicylate, Titanium Dioxide, C12-15 Alkyl benzoate, Quaternium-18 Bentonite, Glycerin, Niacinamide, PEG-30 Dipolyhydroxystearate, Zinc Oxide, PEG-10 Dimethicone, Sodium Chloride, Dimethicone, 1,2-Hexanediol, Triethoxycaprylylsilane, Ozokerite, Copernicia Cerifera (Carnauba) Wax, Aluminium Cunt Hydroxide, Stearic Acid, Chlorphenesin, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract(148mg), Citrus Aurantium Amara (Bitter Orange) Peel Extract(5.02mg), Cinnamomum Cassia Bark Extract(1.67mg), Tocopheryl Acetate, Adenosine, BHT, Panthenol, Vitis Vinifera (Grape) Fruit Extract, Perfume

(Bottom) Himalaya Black Watery Gel Cream, 15g
The cream promises to prevent skin damage against environmental elements and deliver all-day moisture for a glowing skin tone. It holds it’s shape as a gel at first but melts into a watery-texture as you spread it. Like the other products, this smells good as well, but it is the most subtle one imho. I like how light it is, and would use this for days where I just want to flaunt my flawless skin. Probably slap on some light BB cream like Hanskin or a simple CC cream and run out to do grocery rounds.

Ingredients include:
Camellia Sinensis Leaf Water(66%), Butylene Glycol, Cyclopentasiloxane, Glycerin, Saccharide Isomerate, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Trehalose, Dimethicone, Cetearyl Alcohol, Betaine, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract(16,750mg), Illicium Verum (Anise) Fruit Extract, C14-22 Alcohols, Panthenol, Tocopheryl Acetate, Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate, Allantoin, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter, Hydrogenated Lecithin, Macadamia Integrifolia Seed Oil, C12-20 Alkyl Glucoside, 1,2-Hexanediol, Propanediol, Caprylyl Glycol, Hydroxyethyl Acrylate/Sodium Acryloyldimethyl Taurate Copolymer, Stearic Acid, Polysorbate 60, PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Triethylhexanoin, Tromethamine, Glyceryl Stearate, PEG-100 Stearate, Dimethiconol, Carbomer, Aqua, Silica, Disodium EDTA, Fragrance

These samples came in the red can alongside a satchet of black tea (for drinking). If I am to choose a favorite product to repurchase, it would have to be the face sunscreen since it smells the best and would easily make my staple morning routine.

a:t Fox Tea Toc Water Tablet 4g ($2)

This is a one-time use water tablet for facial cleansing. Just drop this into a bowl of warm water and get the best detox experience at pH4.9 (best for the skin!). It is like making a patting water, but with a tea bag. I don’t see how it is practical to spend $2 per cleansing but I’m privileged to try this out. Maybe it is a Korean thing to use a basin for cleansing. I wonder if they would make a no cleanse cleansing water in the future (sort of like a waterless hand sanitizer)! That would be nice for a lazy person like me hehe.

This product appeared in a previous memebox before.

♣♣♣♣♣♣♣♣♣♣

image

a:t Fox Gyoolpy Tea Fresh Water 100ml ($10)

Another a:t Fox product is this facial mist that soothes the dry skin. This is one from the Gyoolpy series previously featured in the Cute Wishlist 1 Memebox! It can also be used as a toner/ makeup fixer. I think this mist is pretty mild and it does the job. I might mix this with the Blithe patting water as well since they are both tea-based. Unfortunately I can only understand a small fraction of the ingredients, so I am trying my luck here and will do a small spritz to patch-test it.

Check out the product page here

The Skin House Lavender Lightening Emulsion, 120ml ($40)

This is probably the most expensive product in the box. It smells lovely–of lavender! ♥ This deserves some raves since it is light and moisturizing. An emulsion is basically a colloidal suspension of a liquid in another liquid. It spreads like water but pumps out as a whitish gel-cream.

image

They also have a whole Lavender range and this is just the first step after cleansing!

If you would have paid $30 for this box and gotten this, the rest are just free with purchase! I love how we can get such a high value for so little. Great job, Memepeople o(╥﹏╥)o !

e choice Fermented Tea Skin Drinks Sleeping Pack, 70g ($2)

Err..not sure if it is a typo but maybe $2 for a supermarket-store-standard travel size sleeping pack sounds about right. This is not exactly HG but it does contain some lovely ingredients I adore like jasmine, rose, chamomile, green tea and white tea extracts. It works for when your skin is sensitive and needed a sleeping pack/ moisturizer that isn’t too heavy. Just rinse off with warm water the next morning to get that rested look.

♣♣♣♣♣♣♣♣♣♣

image

This box is a must-have. While it is not as highly valued as other boxes, it is packed with things to try and I love it! The A-true and lavender emulsion smell so good. I would be rushing for the next tea box if there would ever be a sequel.

Memebox Global #14 -this one is golden!

image

It is like a feast for the eyes when I opened up my Memebox 14. From the first glance, it is jam-packed and the info card gave away what treasures it contain inside.  I saw spoilers on social media before receiving the Memebox 14, but it definitely feels different to have in your hands.

❤ ❤ ❤

image

I quickly went through and unboxed (or un-bubble wrapped) everything. The colors are so vibrant in this memebox. Love!

I especially love the Golden Time Vita Capsule Essence from Recipe by Nature (40ml, $42). It looks gorgeous under the sunlight.

image

True to it’s name, the Vita Capsule radiates like golden globules and promises to deliver nourishment to the skin on top of it’s brightening effects.

image

I have in fact tried this myself, and found it to be similar to some lighter facial oils. It is, in fact, a mix between essence and oil. It suggests to apply a toner beforehand and dab a generous amount all over the face— but I don’t agree that we should apply it generously unless we don’t mind looking like a wok all day.

The essence absorbs well, leaving the skin all supple and dewy. It smells like mandarin oranges too (yum!). I’d happily recruit this into my morning routine.

pssst…it is only $14 on the Memeshop!

Sua Young is the same brand name we have seen (the Berristure from Mask Box 4) and this time I get to try their makeup: Sua Young Mineral Essence In Liquid Foundation SPF33 PA+++ ($5.66, 5g).

image

It is a cute miniature of some mid-range foundation in the market. I love this packaging more than the few other tube ones.

image

I have not given this a shot. But I will, soon.

Out of the 3 VOVs (Volume/Waterproof mascara/ liner), I have gotten the one I wanted most; VOV Black Good-bye Smudge Waterproof Mascara (9g, $16).

image

It reminds me of the Maybelline mascaras.

The brand is pretty popular for their makeup in Korea. Having purchased their brightener, I would say this is a great product to try. My current favourite is the Imju Fiberwig Mascara and I would like to see how this will match up.

The brand, a:t Fox is not unknown to the memefans. We have received a couple of products from them including the Toc water satchets and cute cupcakes trio.

image

I have to admit I am a closet blusher lover. I claim to not like makeup, but I want a blusher so bad lately. And lucky I was as this Fantasy Holic Lip & Cheek Designer Pencil ($7) came with my memebox! It is dual functional as the name suggests and claims to provide matte, non-clumping finish.

The color reminds me of the cheek blush I used to have that came with my Holika Holika Peach girl BB cream. Adore~

Having received a whole tin (5x) of eyeliners from Beauty People in the Cute Wishlist memebox previously, I was less ecstatic to have gotten this Miss 100 Super Waterproof Gel Liner Auto Pencil in Glimmer Bronze (0.5g, $38). Can you believe this is $38?! Oh memebox…

image

It does seem really solid. I appreciate a liner that I do not need to sharpen because I feel like I am wasting some when I do.

image

Silly me forgotten a swatch shot… but I gotta say the color payoff is fantastic and it looks very much like my UD 24/7 bronze pencils. The downside: only a tad smudge-able imho.

These twins, the Shower Mate Perfume de Whip Body Wash- Red Fantasy and Pure White blossom (50ml ea, $4) features Marilyn Monroe. I love the idea of a whip-cream like bubble wash with fruity and sweet floral scents.

image

Heard only good things about them, so I will definitely give it a go after my current 93718732x body gels runs out.

A whole set of Kocostar products ($20) was thrown into the box and they include;
1x  Ggongji Hair Pack
1x Face Spot Mirror Patch
1x Finger Nail Pack
1x Foot Peeling Pack

image

A truly head-to-toe experience package!

image

image

Adore the mirror included in this face spot pack. It might be an alternative to my 3M acne patches, and I can bring these traveling in winter!

image

My previous nail packs from Kocostar was in a baby pink packaging. Those were just so-so. My hopes are not high for nail packs and I prefer cuticle oils/ hand creams. This will probably go to a friend.

image

Never have I seen a “ponytail” pack in my life. I think this will be used on my spa day! Don’t mind the idea of longing around and being a couch potato with this on~

image

I love trying foot peeling masks! My last ones were… intriguing, I have to say. My soles are worn from all the walking during the summer holidays.

Next up are the beautifully illustrated packs of masks from Sally’s Box ($14);
1 x Love Recipe Apple Mask (20ml)
1x Delight Ceramide Hydrogel Mask (25g)
1x Delight Collagen Hydrogel Mask (25g)
1x Delight Pathenol Hydrogel Mask (25g)

image

And we girls are all suckers for packaging, admit it. These look good even before I try them out, and I have tested a handful of great hydrogel masks so I can’t wait!

image image image image

My mask reviews will come late as my collection is growing at an unstoppable pace. I have sleeping and mud packs to use on top of sheet masks. Phew!

Thats all 15 products in the Memebox #14!
It is definitely one of the best Memeboxes I have received to date, and one which I will actually use most of.

image

The Memevalue of this box is around $150, and I personally value it at around $80. It is therefore still a high-valued box considering I only forked out $23 + $6.99 shipping for it. (Not to mention I did use a couple of memepoints and promo code!)

I strongly recommend getting the global Memeboxes! The #17-19 boxes are still available for grabs and you get $2 for signing up today.

You may also find all the Memeboxes with it’s shipping date on this memebox-dedicated page and more bonuses/information. I will update with September coupon codes once I get them.

At the meantime, happy memeshopping!
