Beauteque April BB bag- Mad for Plaid edition

image

Hi guys~ Bringing you the Beauteque April BB bag- Mad for Plaid edition this time. I personally love plaids! Although the theme does not translate throughout, they did include this very pretty plaid makeup bag which fits everything. 🙂

image

This edition includes 7 products, valued at RRP $45 (estimated from Amazon). Values may differ with shipping.

image

The bag was scented with honey and on the get go, I fell in love with this; the Holika Holika Honey Sleeping Pack in Blueberry. How can anyone not love honey + blueberry? ❤

image

The transition into spring did take it’s toll on my skin, and I had dry patches on my cheeks and nose (thanks to allergies) but this pack instantly hydrates my skin and soothes it. Have I already mentioned how divine this smells?

image

It is of a honey + cream consistency and isn’t as tacky as real honey. You do feel that there is a slight stickiness after application but most of it is absorbed with proper massaging. I have used this almost every other night (using my OST serum + vitamin oil alternately) and my skin is thanking me! 😀

Seeing this It’s Skin Macaron Lip Balm (Grape) is like seeing an old friend to me. I had one a few months ago and received envious stares whenever I whipped it out of my bag.

image

It smells totally of grape juice and works fine~ I am not a fan of finger-dipping into my skin care but hey, I’ll make do with a packaging as cute as this.

image

Getting every other color and laying them on a cake tier display for my female guests at my wedding. #ideas #goals

The Mizon Water Volume Aqua Gel Cream is yet another old friend of mine. It is a cooling, hydrating minimalist gel. Pop one in the bag for a quick skin relief after a day under the blazing sun and you’ll see. 😀

image

Also appreciating the info in English. More companies are adapting to this to help sell worldwide!

image

I know some may be confused as to why we get a razor in a BB bag but I needed one anyways, so I’m pretty glad to get it. 😛 Why does the girl on the package reminds me of Shara Shara’s sun cream doll.

image

Probably not the best razor in the world but it is useful~

image

I have not had many body patch experiences and am willing to try this Holika Holika S Body Jiggle Patch.

image

This one is different from the traditional heating types in that it forms carbonated bubbles to help firm up the skin area. You’d have to apply the gel and then patch on for 30-40 minutes. The bubbles produces a tingling sensation- which is probably why this is called a jiggle patch (?).

image

Well, we know bikini season is coming soon so why not.

Personally not a fan of powder washes because I can’t get over the hassle of preparing a water bath for my face lol.
The Hanaka Camellia Powder wash comes in a pack of 7 and claims to act as an anti-inflammatory and anti-aging wash.

image

Without a large clean bowl, I might opt for my favourite method; the spritz bottle. We will see..

image

So far, I have never heard of Hanaka, but Beauteque seemingly wants to introduce us to the brand. They added two masks from them as well: Whitening and Oil-control.

image

The packaging looks really solid. These are manufactured in Taiwan btw.

image

image

I have not given them a shot yet as I was using the sleeping pack, but I might soon.

image

I love this edition. The honey mask and macaron are my favourite (I may have arranged my posts in the order of fav to least fav items). ❤ I am never a huge fan of masks because I don’t have the time to indulge in them, but the rest of the bag I would definitely use. 😀

image

We are always discovering new things from these BB bags, and I find them to be of good value as long as I get one new product to love. The bags they come in are also great to have for any occasion, and to house skin care gifts for friends and family~ 🙂

Beauteque Head to Toe Pink Beauty Bag~ February 2015 edition

Its not everyday you can get a pink-themed beauty bag in your mail~ This February, Beauteque brought us some amazing products via their Head to Toe Pink bag! Not only do the products play to the theme, they also came in a cute cutout pink makeup bag and info card! ❤

image

Just look at that gorgeous bag. It has got to be my favourite bag received from Beauteque’s subs so far~ And yes, only Beauteque offers beauty bags that actually come with real awesome bags!

image

This bag costs $26 and shipping costs vary (USA- $4.95, CAN- $6.95, EU- $8.95). Each of their bags contains 7 beauty products in total! As of today, it is still available for purchase. 🙂

~.~.~.~.~

Description reads: You don’t need to visit the city of love to fall in love when the bag of love is waiting for you at your doorstep! Fall in love with the bag of love this month filled with pink treats from us to you. Glam yourself with the Head to Toe Pink Bag which includes a variety of beauty products perfect for the afternoon out with friends, or a night with that special someone!

I am most excited for this product;
Shiseido Hada Senka Lotion ($15.95)

image

There are a few Japanese brands that I love and Shiseido is one of them. My HG sunscreen and basic cleanser comes from Shiseido so I really looked forward to trying this ever since I saw the unboxing (or unbagging) on IG.

image image

This lotion feels like a creamy milk and smells like milk too if anything. It reminded me very much of Hada Labo’s milk lotion which I adore as well. The formula isn’t sticky at all and upon spreading, it absorbs into the skin, leaving it moisturized and so sooofft… ❤

I love it! I am substituting this lotion into my day routine after toner and essence. Since winter refuses to leave..(smh I know) my skin needs all the moisture it can get!

Tony Moly Easy Touch Auto Lip Liner ($7.25) in 02 Rose Pink

This is another product that I really need! It feels like jackpot when you needed something and your beauty sub came with it (/^▽^)/~

image

One end is a lip brush and the other is the liner pencil. The brush is so handy for blending and helping your lipstick application look as natural as possible. I wore a dark lip out tonight and gosh this goes so well with my MAC Viva Glam.

image

Okay the above swatch was taken under bright lighting but the real color is darker and has slight shimmery bits. It applies smoothly and is almost creamy. It is also easy to blend out. The pencil contains about 2cm of product and is pretty sturdy, unlike other cheap lip liners that may fall out…Verdict? It’s a keeper! I’d look out for the color No.03 Red wine (Tony Moly made 5 color variations of this liner). 🙂

Next up is a product that I have tried before. It is the cute Etude House Moonlight in Spoon Blending Sleeping Cream ($3.95).

We received the Rosehip one, which is a flavor(?) that I have not tried. 😛 I personally think the green tea and blueberries ones were fab and smell so good. However, if you attempt to use it all up at once, you might find that it is a little too rich to absorb. People complain about getting hair and lint sleeping in with the pack but I usually use my patting water first and then massage in half of this spoon for a better outcome.

image

Description from Etude House: This is a Blending Sleeping Cream containing Rosehip extract, Lavender, Chamomile and Mint. Blend together Sleeping Cream’s golden herb water-gel and richly nourishing cream contents to moisturize skin overnight for a lucid, bright moonlight-like complexion.

And you have to agree this makes such a cute gift too. 🙂 I’m looking forward to skewer bath bombs and other adorable beauty products from Etude!

It’s Skin Todak Todak Capsule Wash Off Mask ($5 both) looks so adorable sob. “Todak Todak” is actually a Korean sound for patting lol. It means that you would pat in some goodness with this product perhaps and keep your skin supple.

image

The pomegranate pack smells so delicious! It read it also contains shea butter. I loved their apple (green) one and am pretty pleased to have gotten these to try out. I’m giving my housemate the other one to test out~ 10ml of product is alot and you can use one capsule for two applications perhaps. 😉

My dream is to buy a transparent fish bowl and fill it up with different mask capsules from It’s Skin, Innisfree and Banila co. ❤ One day…

I did not expect the next product in this bag, but I was ready to try it.
The Femme Couture Highlighting Luminizer ($11.50)  has split and caused a watery mess upon opening.

image image

You can perhaps see from the photo below…yeah unicorns bled to bring us shiny, pinkish glow. 😦

image

I was not happy with this. I wished at least the smell would justify the mess it made on my sofa (which covers I washed after the whole shoot) but it didn’t. I might, or might not use this again, depending on how desperate I am, but I guess I would rather use the strong smelling Soap & Glory one I got last Christmas.

The Tony Moly Circle Lens Mascara ($6.50) would have a difficult time to impress me because I already have my staple HG mascara and I personally prefer more natural makeup looks.

image image

It didn’t do such a bad job to be honest. The wand is really slim, as compared to other volumizing mascaras out there. This means that it is perfect for a dramatic lower lash coat and you can apply this in a zig zag vertically rather than getting it all clumped up when applied horizontally.

image image

Yes, it is not as dark a black as the Dejavu Fiberwig one (more of an ashy grey), but the formula is comparable. I tried this on and it didn’t budge for 5 hours but I cannot be certain about oilier, hotter days because it was 0 degrees Celcius out today…. I would keep this for party times. 🙂

Lastly, the ever so lovable blending sponge ($15.95) in a ribbon sealable bag. *dies* (✿ ♥‿♥)

image

The sponge is so dense but bouncy it reminds me slightly of the TCFS Marshmallow puff sponge. This one does not reek of latex (thank goodness) and is go easy to grip. The sharper tip works to blend out of edges like the side of your nose, meanwhile the rounded end is for the cheeks and forehead.

image

~.~.~.~.~

Okay, lets be real. Some prices quoted were jacked up obviously, but I think they all do total up to at least $50 and lets not forget about how pretty the pink bag it came in looks. I enjoy the curations of this beauty bag alot and look forward to the next one: The Head to Toe Breakfast bag! Do check it out if you have not, the spoilers look amazing ❤

A Sunday Brunch with Memebox Cafe Box!

image

I am a huge fan of coffee and I bought this Memebox on the impression that it will be loaded with caffeine, but it turns out the box is focused on Cafe! I was about to get disappointed, but several items made me change my mind. Lets take a look!

image

image

The Memebox Cafe Box is supposed to ship on the 2nd of October via standard mail and it reached in Central Europe in 2 weeks. I was not happy at all that the new mail employed is wayy slower than the previous by a week but that is how it is. This box was priced at $23 and I grabbed it on restock before the shipping date. I think I scored on this one!

••••••••••

I wished that this product would be included and it is! Surprised I was the Memebox would curate a more well-known brand as the previous boxes contained mainly unknown or relatively new ones.

The Tonymoly Latte Art Cappucino Cream-in Scrub (95g, $13) is a wonderful smelling scrub loaded with milk protein, caffeine, coffee extracts and acetyl hexapeptide-8. It is really great for those with uneven tones, dry skin and even clogged pores.

image

Look at how cute this packaging is! The top lid has a spatula attached to it so we need not worry about any hygienic issues. I would most definitely reuse this in some way. J’adore!

image

Some claimed that they felt slight heat from this but I felt pretty neutral. The exfoliating beads are very gentle and my skin feels soft and awaken after using this scrub in the morning. The caffeine accelerates the circulation and reduces the facial edematous appearance. Texture-wise it feels like a thick cream-jelly sort with microbeads. Ohhh this scrub smells so divine!

image

I have been eyeing this since my very first encounter with Korean products (which is like half a decade ago) and I thank Memebox for giving us an opportunity to try it!

••••••••••

I should say this one might be a shocker to some: The Cleomee Anti-wrinkle Donkey Lotion (250ml, $83). Can you believe it is a $83 lotion containing donkey milk??! Neither do I! But heck I am so happy to get to try this~ Hee haw!

image

This made up the weight of the box. It smells like Johnson & Johnson’s milk lotion/ body wash and is not super thick of anything, which makes it great for daily use. Donkey Milk is apparently the key ingredient and it is rich in natural EGF, Selenium, Vitamin E, Vitamin C and more. It also claims to have Anti-Aging, Lightening, Moisturizer, Nourishing properties.

image

There was also an advert where they used this lotion on the face. I would probably keep it to just my body and especially the neck which needs anti-aging care by 20-something. EGF is a growth factor which helps regenerate skin. It’s efficacy has not been proven, but better something than nothing, right?

••••••••••

The Vella Fresh Creamy Soap (100ml, $13) was the spoiler for this box. It kinda cushion the shock as I found out early that the box isn’t all about coffee.

Description on Memebox’s website:
This whipped cream-textured cleanser is enriched with deeply hydrating and soothing ingredients: donkey milk, 3 honey complex, and 4 kinds of floral extracts. It’s highly concentrated with nourishing ingredients and that turn to creamy bubbles to thoroughly cleanse away all skin impurities and excess sebum. It also soothes, protects, and moisturizes the skin to maintain the optimal pH balance in the skin!

image

Another product with donkey milk. Great! So whats so good about it?

donkey

It is said that donkey milk is pretty similar to human milk– packed with all the goodness!
This cleanser also boosts other benefits like honey complex and floral extracts. I was truly excited to try this when I read it!

vella

image

It bubbles up very well, especially with the aid of a facial sponge. I might try this with my Beauteque minerals facial brush and see if this will be my favourite cleansing routine. Smell-wise, the citrus notes did not go through but it smells mostly like…err soap. I think it is not a bothering scent at all.

••••••••••

This is probably a consolation prize for me as I retreated dismally after the Holika Holika’s Memebox was unboxed. I adore the brand, but I could buy something I really need instead. Nevermind about that now, check out this cutie!

The Holika Holika Desert Time Lip Balm (7g, $6) is like any other standard lip balms out there- moisturizing and yummy-smelling.

image

I have gotten the 01 Red Cupcake (which I actually wanted!) and it has a translucent red color to it.

image

It is always nice to have a lip balm all year round and I think this is so envy-worthy. One more to add to my cute cosmetics collection~

••••••••••

I thought this was a meteorite until I read the name;
Binu Cook Ice Cream Scoop Cacao Body Soap (70g, $3).

It feels like this came from an indie organic brand because it is 100% natural, hand-made soap bar for the face and body. 비누 or Bi-nu actually means soap in Korean and Binu cook is a company that manufactures soap resembling food! This scoop of ice cream soap smells exactly like a chocolate scoop.

image

I would not have heard of this brand if it is not for Memebox. Their products seem to revolve around making useable things look like food and I think with their organic trademark, it could make a pretty good addition to an Organic box (if Memebox ever comes up with one).

Check out binucook.co.kr

••••••••••

This is not the first time I have gotten a Pure Smile product and this one is the Green Tea Mask Sheet (23ml, $1).

image

I am on the fence with Pure Smile products because they are practical products but I have yet to discover a HG product from them. This brand is from Japan but manufactured in Korea, hence the Japanese words on the packaging.

••••••••••

I had a great time going through this Memebox. It might not be of high value like other boxes, but at least half of it was a wow for me.

image

The Cafe box totaled up to $119 (thanks to the astonishing price of the donkey milk lotion) but I would say it is worth my $45 (self-estimated value). If you are looking for a scrub, cleanser and lotion, this one is one to watch out for in case of restocks.

Do check out the other available memeboxes here and use my promo codes. These are good till the end of October and gives a discount of $5 off all orders (good for one use each).
